Fedora TV is a new project to bring video and audio content related to Fedora to our users and contributors. To achieve this, we want to invite all members of our community to submit their content, which can range from screen cast tutorials, video interviews, podcasts, talks and slides - essentially, anything you can think of that's Fedora related!
How To Access Fedora TV
Fedora TV is an RSS feed, and the link:
It is also a listed channel in Miro, so you can easily access it by installing and launching that particular application. Another great way to access it is through the Banshee media player, which like Miro will allow you to automatically download and play any media content in the feed (audio or video) but you'll need to specify the feed address yourself.
How To Submit Your Content
To submit your content we ask three things:
- You agree to it being used under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-Sharealike 3.0 license.
- You have somewhere to host it yourself. In the future we may be able to host videos for you, but for the time being we don't have this facility.
- It is in a free format that is usable out of the box on Fedora, e.g. Ogg Theora/Vorbis?.
Also, please ensure that you use the "ogv" extension when submitting Theora video.
Once these two conditions are met, fill out a ticket here with the following information:
- Author's name
- Video Title
- Video Description
- Video URL
Somebody will then review the ticket and let you know the result by responding to it.
