#652 Use PHX machines to compose Fedora
Closed: Fixed None Opened 15 years ago by jkeating.

Fedora Release Engineering would like to finally use PHX machines to do Fedora composes, instead of the workstation under my desk. To do this we'll need at least two machines, one x86 based and one ppc based, each with a goodish amount of local disk space (over 50G). For the time being, they will need to have rawhide put on them, until such time that RHEL5 is able to handle using chroots + SELinux to compose.

These machines will need to be used for a day or so weekly for snapshot releases, slightly longer for composing Alpha/Beta/Preview/RCs. Outside of those times the machines could be Koji builders.

Configuration of the machine is not really necessary. They need rawhide, pungi, livecd-tools, rsync, and potentially mock installed on them.

We'd like to have something ready to test before Fedora 10 Alpha, which is less than a month away (but we don't need it like tomorrow).

Just curious: The beta wasn't composed in PHX, was it?

The live images were. The traditional trees were not, mostly because we were able to put the isos generated for the traditional trees up on public storage relatively quickly negating the need to do all parts of the compose in PHX.

We do have compose machines, so this task can be closed.
