#5426 Stop sending notifications about bugzilla activity
Closed: Fixed None Opened 7 years ago by jskarvad.

= bug description =
Recently I have started receiving e-mail notifications about bugzilla activity from notifications@fedoraproject.org, e.g.:

USER commented on RHBZ#1363632 'acpid is NOT enabled by `systemctl enabl...'
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1363632

I am already subscribed to the bugzilla notifications, so I don't see any benefit in receiving e.g. five notifications about event which I can clearly see in one notification e-mail from the bugzilla.

Is there a way how to stop this? I logged into notifications administration web page, removed all rules which have Bugzilla in its name, but it didn't help.

Also I think this shouldn't be sent by default - it only distracts.

You are likely getting these from the "a partcular user" rule that matches all activity that matches your user (you own that package so a bugzilla message matches your particular user).

You should be able to go to:

https://apps.fedoraproject.org/notifications

find the 'a particular user' rule, click on it to edit it, then go down and add a 'all bugzilla activity' and then click on 'negate' to not match on those. Then save and you should get messages associated with your user, excepting all bugzilla messages.

Let me know if that works or does not work for you...

Thanks for info. I tried to setup it the way you described. It took awhile because I encountered few internal server errors and timeouts, but so far it seems to work. Nevertheless I must admit this is not straightforward and I am afraid I wouldn't be able to figure it out myself. I think it should be documented at least.

I added a PR for fmn.web to add some text to explain things better:

https://github.com/fedora-infra/fmn.web/pull/76

Additional help/wording/comments welcome, but could you all comment up there?

Hopefully we can make things more understandable...
