#5269 please create qa-tools-sig group used to control ACLs to QA's tooling packages
Closed: Fixed None Opened 7 years ago by tflink.

PkgDB2 allows FAS group to maintain packages in Fedora.
Before applying for a new group, you should ask for a new mailing list or agree with the different people concerned to use the mailing list you already have.
Once the mailing list is sorted out, please create a bugzilla account for this address. The list will be assigned or made cc to the bugs open against the package the group has ACLs for and will be added to the <pkg>-owner@fp.o alias.

group name: qadevel-sig
(case sensitive, must end with -sig)

mailing list email: qa-devel@lists.fedoraproject.org
(list that will receive the email for each commits and be added to the <pkg>-owner@fp.o alias)

After a conversation on IRC, I'd like to change the request a little.

  1. Please create a qa-tools-sig private mailing list for use by the folks who will be involved in the packaging qa tools instead of using the public qa-devel@lists.fedoraproject.org list.

  2. Please create a new pkgdb group for the folks involved in packaging qa tools:
    * name: qa-tools-sig
    * mailing list: qa-tools-sig@lists.fedoraproject.org (assuming that's the list email from the new list above)

I would change the description if I could but I seem to not have permissions for that.

ok. I think everything is in place.

  • I created the list with you as owner. Please adjust it so it's archives are private and list subscribers need admin approval.

  • I started the process to create the bugzilla user, there's a held message in the list interface you can read and use to complete creating the bugzilla user.

  • I created the fas group with you as admin.

Please let us know if you need anything further.

I don't know if this is the correct place to ask but can the group be the primary POC for packages? We tried assigning an existing package to the group but were met with errors that "qa-tools-sig is not in the packager group"

nvm, we got it figured out. sorry for the noise
