#498 New Mailing List
Closed: Fixed None Opened 15 years ago by kanarip.

Spin SIG is starting it's work and will engage in a lot of work as well as parties that form/distribute Fedora derivatives. fedora-devel is just too high traffic

I'm not sure what naming standards apply, but we would want to keep it as "open" as possible;

  • fedora-spins-list (fits the SIGs name)
  • fedora-derivatives-list (too suggestive maybe)

Personally, I just prefer fedora-derivatives-list since it provides a forum for communication between Fedora derivatives (a large number) and I think that is critically important.

+1 for fedora-spins-list.

This looks like it is blocking the [https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/SIGs/Spins/SpinSubmissionProcess SpinSubmissionProcess], so we should probably make a decision and run with it.

1: Down with '-list'!
2: Since this isn't for a hosted project it should be on the lists.fedoraproject.org mailing list server.

So that'd make it fedora-spins@lists.fedoraproject.org?

Yes.

We're having a problem with the reply-to headers being munged by postfix. I don't have enough postfix-fu to fix the problem. I've verified that mailman is injecting the messages into the SMTP queues properly...

Are we sure its postfix changing the reply-to headers? That strikes me as odd.

I think all of the mailing list issues have been worked out at this point, so I created the mailing list (you should get an email with the mailman info soon).
