#4836 Help synching id.fedoraproject.org with ask.fedoraproject.org
Closed: Fixed None Opened 8 years ago by polywogsys.

= bug description =
ask.fedoraproject.org already has my email address on file, so I cannot use my id.fedoraproject.org account. I can login to id.fedoraproject.org just fine and update my information/password reset and the email address in "id.fedoraproject.org" is the one I want to use in ask.fedoraproject.org.

So basically I don't know how I can convince ask.fedoraproject.org that the email address in my id.fedoraproject.org and the email that I am typing in during "signup" on ask.fedoraproject.org (after it authenticates me) is my real email address.

ask.fedoraproject.org always says "email already taken".

Hi,

I see you have already created a new account with your id.fedoraproject.org login, and have used this new account to post a comment.
I will not be able to remove the comment, and because of it not be able to delete your new account, without corrupting the database.

I do see that your old account (with your email address as in FAS) is still linked to a Google user, so if you login with the same Google account, you should get access back to your old account.

If you are unable to access that Google account, I will be able to either:
- Link your id.fedoraproject.org login to the old account, thus making you able to login to your old account with id.fedoraproject.org, which will remove it from your new account and make that account inaccessible
- Swap the email addressess on the accounts
- Swap the Google and id.fedoraproject.org logins

Please let me know which you'd prefer.

Any news here?

Please reopen and add the info requested and we will get things sorted out.
