#4686 Update ask.fp.o to 0.7.51
Closed: Fixed None Opened 9 years ago by immanetize.

Ask.fedoraproject.org needs an update! I've updated the package to 0.7.51 in epel-testing; now it needs some play time in staging.

I intend to update staging over this weekend (14,15MAR2015) unless someone else gets to it first. Authentication patches in particular are an area of concern.

Over the following week, this update should be rigorously tested, and pushed to production over the weekend of 23MAR or as soon as it is viable.

I should be around on Sunday to help with this. Are we looking to move ask to ansible or anything as part of this update or is it just a simple package update?

I was also thinking about disabling some add ons that we've added, like django-stopforum-spam. I don't know if it works with ask at all and it's quite difficult to test and confirm. From the looks of it, I don't think the module helps - we still have to activate moderation to limit spam.

askbot is already over in ansible. ;)

I should also be around this weekend to assist.

Yeah, stopforumspam never worked. :(

Oh!?

Yay! I hope you are - I haven't caught up to ansible yet - I hope randomuser has more of an idea than I do XD

Yeah, stopforumspam never worked. :(

We'll just remove it :/

I have updated the askbot package on ask.stg to 0.7.51. patches for /usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/askbot/{middleware/cancel.py,conf/login_providers.py,deps/django_openauthid/util.py} have been rebased in place.

I tested FAS and Google login, and they work. Google is deprecating this login method, and we're supposed to switch to google+ login; this can be done with putting some keys and flipping a switch in the web interface.

The new moderation features look promising, but they don't work. Pressing the approve or decline buttons in the web interface doesn't seem to do anything.
