#4617 Open port 623/udp between 10.5.124 and 10.5.130 subnets for Beaker
Closed: Fixed None Opened 9 years ago by tflink.

Beaker uses ipmi to control the power state of client machines. As we add bare metal boxes as clients to Beaker, we need that capability.

Since the qa0* IMMs are on the 10.5.130 subnet and the beaker server is on the 10.5.124 subnet, those IPMI commands aren't making it to their intended destination.

Please request the opening of port 623/udp (default port for IPMI) between the 10.5.124 subnet and the 10.5.130 subnet.

After discussing this in IRC a bit, it can be narrowed down. I only need access to 10.5.130.185 - 10.5.130.192.

Another option would be to move the management interfaces for qa01-qa08 back to the qa network.

I'm fine with either option, just need the beaker server to be able to access the IMMs for IPMI.

I think I would prefer to move those specific mgmt interfaces back to the qa network. This will require some coordination with RHIT networking folks, will try and get it next week.

OK, that works for me. I'll try the bare metal hosts again after the interfaces are moved

This should be all completed now.

After quite a bit of delay on my part, I've looking at this again and I'm not convinced that 623/udp is open between 10.5.124 and 10.5.130.

When I run ipmitool, it can't even start establishing authentication which leads me to suspect that the network traffic isn't getting through.

Have opened a ticket with Red Hat IT to get ports opened from beaker01 and beaker01.stg to management ports of qa boxes and beaker loaners.

Still waiting for this. My apologies for the delay.

This should be done now from what I understand.
