#4551 Use piwik for web stats on fp.org and other infra apps
Closed: Fixed None Opened 9 years ago by ryanlerch.

= problem =
There is no unified way for tracking web statistics that is used over all the fedora websites and applications.

= enhancement recommendation =
spin up an instance of piwik (piwik.org) to track web stats and analytics of fedora websites and apps, with the added benefit of having all these statistics in a central location.

I think having better stats is a great idea...

First step here would be to get it packaged up for EPEL.

I understand that piwik can cover both the statistics gathered by the webservers, as well as from a JS that is embedded on each page you want to track.

We have a test instance up thanks to relrod + smooge, and the popular plugin for WP is installed on the Magazine as of yesterday so we can start testing the statistics gathering (default tracking of content blocks and RSS).

Whats the status here now?

Added piwik code to the wiki template -- closing this now.
