#3145 gobby instance for the Board
Closed: Fixed None Opened 12 years ago by toshio.

= bug description =

The Board like to have a gobby instance to record their phone meeting notes in.

It would need to be separate from the main Fedora gobby in that it would
Have a different password, known only to the FPL and current Board Members
'''Not''' be backed up by git.

= bug analysis =

Talked with lmacken and nirik -- seems like it would be pretty easy to copy the current gobby manifest and leave out the git portion. Would use the same box to host but use a different port.

= fix recommendation =

I was going to take a look at implementing this today but got caught up in a few other bugfixes. Ticketing this so that it doesn't get forgotten in case I can't get back to it before Wednesday (the next phone Board Meeting).

thoughts - while we could set one of these up - would it be useful, at all, to see about setting up etherpad at openshift (if it is possible) and let the board spawn off an instance on demand?

I'm doing a little looking around to see if that could be done or not.

I now know of two working etherpad-lite installs on openshift, including my own (with much help from whearn@)

http://etherpad-codeblock.rhcloud.com/

So it's definitely possible especially now they they have nodejs support built in natively.

I spent much of today playing with making that work. I am planning on writing up how to do it at some point soon, but if the board wants to go this route it's definitely able to be done.

A wiki page with a nice writeup/blog post I think would finish this out... then the Board (or indeed, anyone with an openshift account) could setup their own. ;)

It seems my work is already done for me.

https://github.com/openshift/etherpad-example has a decent set of instructions in the readme for setting it up on OpenShift.

Closing this out, but happy to help if the board needs some help setting it up on OpenShift.
