Reason for outage:

The database backend for several services is being moved to new hardware and upgraded. This will result in an outage of services using that database.

NOTE: Will update this with the approx downtime once we have an idea how long a dump/restore of data there takes.


Looks like it takes about 25minutes to dump the existing db's on db01, and about 90 to load them on db05. So, 2 hours should be ok for the outage, with most of it just being smolt (we can do everything else first).

Sent out the announcement on this.

This outage is over. All services should be using the new host and operating normally.
