#2482 Rename "au-users" mailing list into "anz"
Closed: Fixed None Opened 13 years ago by kaio.

I am the admin of au-user mailing list.

Since Australia ambassadors and New Zealand ambassadors agreed to join in one mailing list, I would like request to have "au-users" renamed into "anz@lists.fedoraproject.org" which reflects our decision.

Thank you.

ok. Will try and get this done...

It will be okay if you have no choice but deleting au-users and create anz again, because there are only a few posts at this moment only. Thanks.

Well, it's a lot easier to just make a new list and remove the old one. ;)

Getting all the redirects and moves and such right is a pain.
I could make the new list and remove the old now... but migrating will need to wait a few days until I can fix up a move list script. ;(

ok. I think I have it moved, but unfortunately, I seem to have fumbled the archives. ;(

I can try and find out if they are on backups anywhere, or would you just like to post something to the new list and start new on the archives?

Also, if you have a record of old posts in .mbox format I can use that to generate the old archives.

Take a look at it and let me know if all is well.

Thanks, Kevin. I have checked just now and have the following errors when I clicked on "archives" link:

Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /pipermail/anz on this server.
Apache/2.2.3 (Red Hat) Server at lists.fedoraproject.org Port 80

Could you send a post to the list and see if the archive picks up and starts working then?

The mailing list operates but the archive link has "permission" problem avoiding page load.

A subscriber received my post and reply through the list.

i.e. the only problem is the archive page.

ok. I think I have it fixed.

I got the old messages back, but it's missing your recent post and reply. ;(
Can you try having someone send something to the list again to see that it's back on the right track now?

Have you had a chance to try a post?
Hopefully it's all set with the archives now, but would like to confirm...

Thanks for following up.

As I said in last comment, that the mails can reach to all subscribers.

However, the archives are not updated with new posts.

ok. I have done a bit more adjustment.

Will see on the next post if archiving is functioning...

ok, looks like its working?

I'll go ahead and close this now. Feel free to re-open or file a new one if you run into any problems.
