#2336 https://pkgs.fedoraproject.org uses a unknown certificate
Closed: Fixed None Opened 13 years ago by till.

= phenomenon =

Firefox warns if I want to connect to https://pkgs.fedoraproject.org/gitweb/?p=python-kitchen.git

= reason =

https://pkgs.fedoraproject.org uses some special certificate, that is not signed by trusted default CA shipped with Fedora, instead of the Fedora *.fedoraproject.org wildcard certificate.

= recommendation =

Use the *.fedoraproject.org wildcard certificate.

= additional notes =

I used the CVS component, which I suspect should be renamed to "SCM" or a "GIT" component should be added, if both a handled differently.

This was the same with cvs, it has to do with how we authenticate lookaside cache. https://pkgs isn't really designed for web browsing, it's more just that we're using a web server there for use with our upload scripts.
