Description From Aleksey Nogin (aleksey@nogin.org) 2009-10-06 19:46:27 EDT (-) [reply]
On an 32-bit x86 CentOS 5 machine:
Loaded plugins: changelog, fastestmirror, kmdl, protectbase Loading mirror speeds from cached hostfile * epel: fedora.mirror.facebook.net [...] epel | 2.1 kB 00:00 Not using downloaded repomd.xml because it is older than what we have: Current : Thu Oct 1 21:44:38 2009 Downloaded: Wed Jun 24 16:11:17 2009 [...]
[epel] name=Extra Packages for Enterprise Linux 5 - $basearch
mirrorlist=http://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/mirrorlist?repo=epel-5&arch=$basearch failovermethod=priority enabled=1 gpgcheck=1 gpgkey=file:///etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-EPEL protect=1 [...]
"http://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/mirrorlist?repo=epel-5&arch=i386"| grep facebook http://fedora.mirror.facebook.net/epel/5/i386/
And it's easy to see that the mirror at the above URL is indeed a few months out-of-date.
P.S. I realize this is unlikely to be the best place to report this problem, but all the other avenues for reporting that I could find appear even less relevant.
------- Comment #1 From Matt Domsch (matt_domsch@dell.com) 2009-10-06 21:42:26 EDT (-) [reply] -------
Thanks for the report.
The admins are running report_mirror frequently, which marks this mirror as up-to-date. I'll contact them.
= background analysis = The admins are running report_mirror frequently, which marks this mirror as up-to-date.
= implementation recommendation = Matt marked the specific Host as not User_active, and emailed the mirror administrators. Once this is corrected, they can re-enable User_active and be put back on the list.
ping Facebook team.

Thanks.
Please remove Lucas Nealan lnealan@facebook.com from the contact list, as he is no longer with Facebook.
Done, and removed his name from the list of admins for this Site in MM.
fedora.mirror.facebook.net is still out of date.
fedora.mirror.facebook.net is still out of date, now 2 months behind on updates/13. Site is still marked as not user_active in the MirrorManager database, so it's not being served to users.
Oddly, the repodata looks up to date, but the packages aren't. ;(
Any news here?
Since this isn't causing any particular issues, I am going to close this ticket.
Please do try and get your mirror back up to date and enable it. :)
