#1437 provide a PoC svn-to-git mirroring option
Closed: Fixed None Opened 14 years ago by meyering.

It is often desirable to maintain a Git mirror of an SVN repository, including all branches.
This can be done by each individual who would like the functionality, but it is not trivial to set up and maintain. It can also be done by some random contributor out on the net, and then people can use whatever service they provide. However, in the latter case, you have to be able to trust the contributor not just to do a good job, and not to be malicious, but also not to have his/her system be cracked by someone who would be malicious. The bottom line is that an automated and well-tested svn-to-git mirroring service would be valuable to many fedorahosted users.

Do we still have a need for this?

I would think most projects wanting to use git would just switch to git.
Or are their other cases I am not thinking of?

I'm going to close this out now. Please reopen if you think this is something we should persue more.
