#1198 Monitoring Fedoraproject Servers on Zabbix
Closed: Fixed None Opened 15 years ago by ggruener.

Verifying the Servers of Fedoraproject that have monitored in nagios are in Zabbix.

I've checked now the servers from nagios-external. I can't find the following servers in zabbix:

*-phx
ns1
ns2
translate

Can you check this Mike?

I start now to check the servers in nagios.

best regards
Gregor Gruener

Ah, so. ns1 and ns2 you can ignore for now. translate is not a server but a website, it'll need to be added. Also the *-phx is a network issue preventing us from monitoring it. We need to monitor that externally. I believe Nigel (G and G_work on IRC) has some ideas on how to do this.

i'm finished with the verifying of the hosts in nagios and zabbix. For the following hosts i didn't find an entry in zabbix:
bastion, bc1-mgmt, log1, nox2, pix2 and ppc5-ppc10.

The fine tuning is running:
We enabled the e-mail alert and get tons of mails about CPU loads are to high of some hosts. I set the value of the cpu load up to > 10 for all hosts in zabbix.

I adjust the value of cpu load to > 15 and the value of too many processes up to > 30.
Furthermore i added a auditd deamon test on the template "Core Linux".

@Next Steps:
I add in the next days some new tests in zabbix, when i am a little bit familiar with puppet:).

The test to check the raid devices is running now on zabbix.

I attach a file with some boxes where i didn't get access. I need the df output of the boxes.
server.txt

I add a new test to check the supervisor deamon on the app* boxes.

I add a new test to check the partition /srv on some boxes(Collab, CVS, Hosted and General).

Some new tests are added to check the partitions on db1 = /var/lib/mysql, db2/db3 = /var/lib/pgsql, /postgresLogs and /backups.

Some new tests were added to check the backup files on db[1-3]. Furthermore we add the zabbix user to the nrpe group on the db boxes.

Zabbix was deactivated.
