Project Info

Project Name: Fedora CMS Solutions
Target Audience: Docs Project (currently)
Expiration/Delivery Date (required): 31 March 2009
Description/Summary: The Docs Project is looking to implement a CMS to handle all non-wiki documentation for Fedora. Various solutions have been presented and we will be quickly moving into the testing phase so we can make better decisions about how this system will look and function.

Project plan (Detailed):
1) Accept proposals for CMS solutions.
2) Grade the proposals against a set of known requirements.
3) Test the solutions with a satisfactory grade.
4) Make final recommendations.
5) Meet with Docs and Infrastructure people to verify CMS solution is viable.
6) Make it happen.

Goals: To have a CMS solution that will match with Fedora goals.

Specific resources needed: MySQL, PHP, Apache

publictest15 is open for you guys to set up shop on.

Here's the list of things that were generated during today's meeting for getting this ready to deploy:

  1. ke4qqq is packaging zikula for Fedora and EPEL-5
  2. While the package is in review, we can install it onto publictest15 (EL-5 box)
  3. Theming, caching and configuration tweaking, auth plugin, test data from docs can be done here at this time.
  4. zikula package has been reviewed and built for Fedora and EPEL-5
  5. test instance running from EPEL-5 package.
  6. Get configuration into puppet
  7. install EPEL-5 package onto app servers
  8. Import docs data
    9.start serving docs content

Since the publictest is up and running I'm closing this ticket. I'm sure we'll have other things to do for zikula when we're ready to deploy to production.
