#11 Infra + Websites Collaboration: Budgeting Site
Closed: Fixed None Opened 8 years ago by jflory7.

This ticket is created in response to discussion in the [https://meetbot.fedoraproject.org/fedora-meeting-2/2015-12-01/commops.2015-12-01-16.59.html 2015-12-01 meeting].

A new budgeting site is something that is on the table, particularly in the wake of the Hubs project coming soon. This is something that needs more discussion. decause is most suitable to provide more information about how to go about doing this and moving forward.

Discussed in 2015-12-08 meeting.

The Budget.Next thread is posted to the lists, and we should be aware that February and March are coming sooner than later. A few goals were established for this in the meeting.

'''Goals''':
- Put up a simple, static website with budget info (target: early 2016)
- Update this ticket with info from Budget.Next specifics on reporting and the process for reporting after reaching out to the Websites team (decause to talk with robyduck)
- Get the budget.fedoraproject.org subdomain arranged with Fedora Infrastructure

Ticket has been open for three months with no new updates. A formal update would be nice to check in on the progress with this task since it is beginning to pop up again now.

Also raising the priority and urgency since it is also "early 2016" now, so this ticket is likely to be completed in coming weeks.

This ticket is at the top of my plate for this week. The websites and infra team worked diligently with me yesterday to get a local development environment spun up, and warn me of the dangers of pushing to the master branch. Translation scaffolding is in place, proxying setup is ready to kick in, and I will be working in the 'budget' branch of the repository.

Thank you robyduck and nb and threebean for all your help. This should see significant progress by Friday (See initial screenshot attached above.)

= Progress started =
Remy has a working development environment of the Budget website and is hoping to have more very soon. The code can be found in the [ssh://git.fedorahosted.org/git/fedora-web.git fedora-web.git] repository in the budget branch.

= Getting involved =
Want to help get involved with the site? Since this repository touches the production websites in Fedora, there is a slight process to become involved. Check out the Websites team for more info on helping out with this task.

The official 1.0 of the site is currently [https://budget.stg.fedoraproject.org/ in staging] and is running a preliminary version that will be deployed across the Fedora infrastructure soon. decause will be sharing updates about this as there is more to announce!
