#492 Keep the badges rollin
Closed: declined 4 years ago by riecatnor. Opened 7 years ago by gnokii.

Manual badge awarding is a time consuming job, especially some ¨features" that tahrir has like redirecting you to the badges feed after an award or give you error pages, if the person doesnt exist in badges or has the badge already. I know what I am speaking of, I award all nuancier badges, since several releases by hand. And some other badges I also award by hand, like the release party badges and some others.

Idea is to reward this work on awarding with some badges. Think a good starting point would be

100 badges awarded
250 badges awarded
500 badges awarded
1000 badges awarded

Artwork idea could be a badger, who rolls badges uphill or to an pyramid

Starting to work on this badge now... what color outline should this badge have?

This is what I've got so far with this design

Hi, Mary! We reviewed your badges at the meeting today, and think that they are pretty neat and cute! Maybe a bit busy with all the elements there. Let's try to clean it up a bit:
- remove the front elements with buttons
- consider removing badges artwork from the tiny badges and leave the different colored rings instead
- 'un-skew' them
We'd love to see a series of slightly different badges: consider having more and more badges as the series goes on.

It should be categorized as community.

The idea is good but I don't know how this will work as there is no fedmsg topic that is published when you award badges. So technically this need to be fixed first.

@mleonova, thanks for the feedback! I tried to incorporate what you mentioned into this latest iteration I did

Lookin good!! Can we try a fedora blue bg color? I think it will help the foreground pop from the bg. Also, please try a lighter grey for the bgs for the mini badges. Thanks :)

Perhaps someone could patch fedbadges to publish a fedmsg when someone awards a badge?

This might need changes to couple of places. Created issue for the same https://github.com/fedora-infra/fedbadges/issues/50

Triaging ticket. For the same reasons mentioned earlier, this badge is not yet technically feasible.
