#482 Flock 2016 Co-speaker badges
Closed: Rejected None Opened 7 years ago by pnemade.

Badge description (like "You added a co-maintainer to a package. BFF!"):
You helped the main Flock Speaker

Help the badges team understand what this idea is all about. If this badge is awarded for certain kinds of activities:
1) What are those activities?
People who are/were not physically present at Flock to present the talk but helped the main speaker in preparing demo or presentation

2) Who is doing them (are they packagers? translators? newcomers? veterans? users? sponsors?)
flock

3) Why are they doing them (is this a means to a different end?)

4) When do they do them (every day? once a year?)
once a year like other flock badges

5) How do they do them (by talking in IRC? by running commands in the console? by using a web interface?)

Lastly, do you have any ideas for artwork concepts?
Just see if one more panda can fit in existing flock speaker badge

Some background, Commops from this time looks started a great initiative of giving speaker badges to the people who helped main speakers at flock. I think this should become a formal badge so that commops one more initiative of stats collection can get help from this badge like how many people used to help main speakers at Flock.

Also, once the badge is done we can email on devel or flock speaker list to submit all such people fas id and award them this Flock Co-speaker badge.

Thanks for reading this idea.

Hiya!

This idea is good in theory, but it will be too difficult to track to make a badge for this. We already spend time manually awarding speaker badges, and to accurately account for who helped make a presentation could present some issues.

Thanks for the idea though :)

Well this has happened in the past and for Flock 2016, hence I thought its not fair to award specific people but all eligible persons. I have no strong concern here but if this happens for next flock then I will request for all such past or forthcoming conferences this badge.

Good not to misuse the admin privileges people are having to award such badges.
