#250 Event Representative Badge
Closed: Pushed None Opened 10 years ago by jsandys.

What the badge should be granted for: Event Representative

Badge description: You represented Fedora at an event booth.

Anything else we need to know: Could be called Booth Sitter or Table Talker, the badge is to recognize those of us who spend all day at an event talking to the public about Fedora. Or the "I spent all day sitting in a booth and all I got was this badge", badge.

All the Fedora Events are listed on this wiki page:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Events

So, how are we going to hand this one out? Will someone be responsible for administering it?

I filed a famsco ticket asking how they would like this badge to be awarded: https://fedorahosted.org/famsco/ticket/363

FAmSCo would like to propose a modification in the process of granting the badge. We think that the only event owners should nominate people for the badge. This would reduce the number of requests and the event owners also know the best who was actually helping at the booth and who wasn't.

Thanks - as per FAmSCo's agreement, nb has been given authority to administer the badge.

It has been pushed out to the site:

Noting here again that only Event Owners as listed at https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Events are to nominate people for this badge to nb.

Since one of the obligations of an ambassador is to write about the event they worked, it might be easy to trigger this from Planet Fedora, especially if it links to the Events page.

Yeah, but it would be tough to filter out those planet posts that have to do with events, and those that have nothing to do with events.

Hi,

can we convert this to an badge with more steps? I mean I do 10 events a year and there are some more who doing 4 or 5, that should be honored

nb is not responding about this badge, whom should I contact next? thanks

I think it would be good to have more steps, 2, 3, 4, 5 per year or accumulation, 5, 10 total.

I noticed that there is an event volunteer badge #338 proposed for fedora conferences instead of Linux and other conferences.
