Something that I've considered a 'would be nice' thing to have in the application is to have the nomination process happen within the application. This would require the election to be 'loaded' into the application 1-2 months before the actual start, but would remove the wiki based process, it would however simplify the administrative overhead considerably.

So far contact from the Fedora Advisory Board and FESCo seems to suggest that "The existing process is fine"
I agree with tremble, so closing as wontfix we can always reconsider later.
