This module allows Drupal 6 users to be authenticated via an instance of the Fedora Account System (FAS). Each Drupal role can also be mapped to a group in FAS, and group memberships are updated for a user before the session starts.

If you found a bug in drupal6-authfas, or would like to suggest an enhancement, simply file a new ticket.

Want to download the code?

You can find tarballs of source releases, to try this on your own Drupal 6 instance, here.

If you're running Drupal 6 on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6, or clones thereof, or Fedora 15 or higher, you can set up Extra Packages for Enterprise Linux (EPEL) and then simply do:

yum install drupal6-authfas

If you want to hack on the code, the drupal6-authfas module is stored in a git repository. You will need the git utility to download the code. Use the command yum install git on Fedora, or apt-get install git on Debian or Ubuntu, to install it.

git clone git://

If you want to know how to use git effectively, the Git community book is very highly recommended.

You can find the gitweb-browseable repository at this page. There's also a RSS or Atom feed of changes available if you like to stay on top of that stuff.
