Bodhi no longer adds comments to Security Response bugs

Reported by: thoger Owned by: lmacken
Priority: major Milestone: Fixed, but not yet deployed
Component: bodhi-server Version:

Description

Before Aug12 upgrade, Bodhi was adding comments to Security Response bugs when updates referencing Security Response bugs were submitted or pushed to testing / stable, e.g.:

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=618096#c4

Bodhi previously had a special handling of 'Security Response' bugs - it avoided bug status and "fixed in version" field changes.

These comments are no longer added after Aug12 upgrade. I was told Bodhi now only do changes to Fedora and Fedora EPEL bugs (product list is configurable, but it's probably all (changes) or nothing).

Adding "update has been pushed to stable" comments to Security Response bugs is desired even though we don't want Bodhi to change bug status. "update has been submitted" comment is not very useful there, adding more clutter than real benefit.

Any comment on the above? Is it lot of effort to restore previous behaviour - to have comments added, but bug state not changed?

Ping for some feedback, at least to know what's doable.

  • Milestone set to Fixed, but not yet deployed
  • Status changed from new to assigned
  • Owner set to lmacken

Sorry for letting this regression slip through the cracks!

I fixed this in 1672d7ffdae93ecf36a9495e32e136dca0905440 which will now add the "%s has been pushed to the %s repository. If problems still persist, please make note of it in this bug report." message to Security Response bugs.

  • Resolution set to fixed
  • Status changed from assigned to closed

This issue should be resolved with bodhi v0.8.3, which is currently deployed to production.
