#205 Release balsa updates for F8 and F9.
Closed: Fixed None Opened 15 years ago by pawsa.

{{{
What does it get to push balsa updates for F8 and F9? It seems the
procedure is changing more often than I release updates in any case...
The relevant builds are:

http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=53127
http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=53124

They fix one serious usability bug (GMail access) as described on:
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=536100

Thanks in advance for your help.

Comment:

The process hasn't changed for a number of Fedora releases.

Thank you for the link. When trying to release the update with "make
update", I get:

$ make update
Enter passphrase for key '/home/pawsa/.ssh/id_dsa':/usr/bin/bodhi:30:
DeprecationWarning: fedora.tg.client has moved to fedora.client. This
will disappear in 0.4
from fedora.tg.client import BaseClient, AuthError, ServerError
Reading from bodhi.templateCreating new update for balsa-2.3.25-1.fc9
HTTP Error 500: Internal error
make: *** [bodhi] Error 255
$
(It asks me for the fedora password but this text disappears from the
screen).

So, no, it does not work for me...

I get "500 Internal error

The server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from
fulfilling the request.

Powered by CherryPy 2.2.1"

when trying to register updates via the websystem.

This seems to be because bodhi crashed at the moment you tried to use it. Can you try it again? If it crashes again, there must be a bug somewhere related to you/your update and we'll get Luke to look at the logs.

I reproduce it on two out of two attempts to use "make update".

My update text is:

[ balsa-2.3.25-1.fc9 ]

type=[S|B|E] (S=security, B=bugfix, E=enhancement) (required)

request=[T|S] (T=testing, S=stable) (default: testing)

bug=123,456

all other text will be considered to be part of the update notes

type=B
request=S
This release fixes one major usability bug as described on:
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=536100

I've cc'd Luke so that he can look into why bodhi is crashing.

However he told me on IRC that bodhi's cert to koji had expired, so that's likely what caused your problem. One more try if you would please since the cert has been replaced.

That did the trick. I have got my update requests registered - thank you
very much!!!
